How to care for your sticky yoga mat
1. CLEANING YOUR STICKY MAT
Use a tiny drop of gentle dish soap diluted with plenty of water. Wipe the yoga mat gently with a non-abrasive sponge. The sponge should be damp, but not soaking wet.
We recommend you do this only after about every 7-10 uses or as you see fit. If you regularly practice in sweaty conditions, you may wish to clean your mat more frequently but keep in mind that while our Eco-friendly yoga mat materials are durable for Yoga practice, over-cleaning or using abrasive products will wear out the materials faster. We do not recommend using any mat cleaner sprays or sprays with essential oils, as they can potentially damage the mat.
2. LET IT DRY
After a sweaty practice or cleaning always allow your mat to dry before you roll it up for the night. Heading straight from your class? Don't stress, the mat is fine to transport rolled up, just remember to keep the design side facing out. Once you're home unroll and let it air dry.
4. ROLL IT UP
Roll it up with the top side (with the etched design) on the outside between uses. It’s designed to be rolled this way, and this will help ensure your mat rolls out nice and flat at each time you use if for your practice.
5. AVOID PROLONGED SUN EXPOSURE
Your mat is, biodegradable and so prolonged exposure to the sun can degrade it more quickly. This isn't the mat to be taking to the beach for the day. By prolonged we mean over 60 minutes or more of direct sun, not even in use.
6. CHALLENGE YOURSELF
Our sticky yoga mats are unlike any other in our lineup. With the amount of grip you'll get on this yoga mat confidently try out some new poses or variations of your favorites.
Use the unique design to check how good your alignment really is and your spacing before jumping into that hand stand :)
